Take medicines at your own risk.

We have often heard about how expensive most of the medicines are, how much they are sometimes over-prescribed and , worst of all, how they create long lasting side-effects, putting the health of the patients at risk ( without his knowledge).

Last week has given one extra shock to us.

One Indian parliamentary committee on health and welfare has reported last week that there are medicines manufacturing is not properly supervised. Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) has joined hands with pharma companies and also medical experts to give fast approvals to their products. CDSCO has given less importance to the health of the consumers and more to the pharma companies. On an average , one new medicine is approved every month in India WITHOUT TRIALS.

CDSCO has responsibility of properly checking that the LICENSING, MARKETING & TESTING of all medicines is done in a responsible manner.

HIGHLIGHT OF THE REPORT:

  1. Often, the pharma companies were involved in writing the recommendations  of medical experts. Imagine the risk of drug companies writing and medical experts just putting their signatures! Just one example: letters submitted by three experts on RIVAROXABAN were merely ditto copies of each other!(This drug is used for anti-blood clotting & is produced by BAYER AG of Germany)
  2. Of the  39 drugs reviewed by the committee [a]as many as 25 drugs were given a green signal without  obtaining opinion of medically qualified experts, [b] eleven  drugs were not tested on different ethnic groups of Indian patients (which is very important if the drug is of foreign origin), [c] 13 drugs were not permitted to be sold in any of the major developed countries like USA, Canada, UK, Australia and European union countries.
God save the patients who are forced by doctors to blindly take large quantities of medicines

One more reason we have got to turn to Nature Cure  and alternative medicine systems!
